Old Mine.

This site is right beside the road. I’ve drove past many times and have not seen the mine.

A photo opportunity, I had to take. Mine workings, with miners hut. Does not get better than that.

Some contents left behind.

Inside the hut are the remains of the miners furnishings, a table, a cot, made of logs and hessian. The old food safe is hanging from the roof, and some Enamel Ware survives to this day.

The old miner’s put so much work into digging these mines. Most are through solid rock and must have taken a lot of effort to dig.

Everywhere through this area, where Quarts veins break the surface, someone has dug them up looking for gold. Maybe there is some left out there for you and me.

About ivoradventures

Lives Brisbane north. Age 47. Male. Interests-heaps of stuff. Camping, fishing, and gold panning, keeps me quite busy. I still find time to cook, and spend time family and friends. I truly enjoy my daughters company(Shannon), but don't see enough of her since she moved out. There is a certain type of beauty that exists only in the wild places, and it calls to you. Go and explore! And drag someone with you.
