Variety Bash 2012

Thursday, August 02, saw the start of the 2012 Variety Bash. Groups of people arrived through out the day. Setting up stages, lights, and preparing food. All of which was taken fore granted by the members of the Variety Bash.

Camp ovens all in a row.

Mountains of food had to be prepared…. it takes a lot to feed 400 people, and a long time to prepare.

Roasts on the spit

carving time, about an hour.

All 400 people were served, and cleared, in less than an hour. Everyone was glad to see the end of the meal. Peace and quite time… of yeah, the pots and pans.

While everyone tried to stay warm, it became apparent that it was crazy hat night. This one is my favourite.

Woof-Woof, it was cold enough for Huskies.

Teletubies.

Horses and Cows.

The Pink Beanies.

Beer flowed freely, even out the side of a bus.

XXXX Gold Beer Bus.

Beer Bus dispenser.

The cold sent everyone to bed by eleven o’clock, time for us to rest and chill for awhile. Until someone mentioned we had to get up at 4.30 am and cook 400 bacon and egg rolls!

About ivoradventures

Lives Brisbane north. Age 47. Male. Interests-heaps of stuff. Camping, fishing, and gold panning, keeps me quite busy. I still find time to cook, and spend time family and friends. I truly enjoy my daughters company(Shannon), but don't see enough of her since she moved out. There is a certain type of beauty that exists only in the wild places, and it calls to you. Go and explore! And drag someone with you.
