Kilkivan Bush Camping

This has got to be one of the best kept secrets around. A truly beautiful spot, well within driving range of Brisbane, and the Sunshine Coast. But don’t everyone head off there straight away, or there’ll be no room for me! Ralph and Antonia run the place, with help from their parents. There is a couple of large open grass areas for camping or caravans, and several smaller shaded areas among the trees. Cabins are available, and contain bunk beds for sleeping. There are two terraced camping areas beside Fat Hen Creek which I have camped on before, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time there.                                         Having spoken to Ralph and Antonia, I have been told that, 2oo campers made use of Kilkivan Bush Camping & caravan park over the Easter break, but a further 300 more had to be turned away, because Ralph and Antonia were not sure if they could guarantee the enjoyment of their stay. Here is a tip, BOOK NOW! (07) 5484 1340. Email: kilkivan@bushcamping.com.au. Address: Rossmore Road, Kilkivan. Queensland 4600.

Now, if your are going to get there late on Saturday, make sure you book yourself in for the “World famous Camp Oven Dinner”, well it should be world famous, it’s that good. The best $15.00 you’ll spend in a long while. So what else is available, powered or unpowered sites, camp huts, camp kitchen (use BBQ’s supplied, kettle, toaster, sinks, fridge), camp fires,  HOT SHOWERS, flushing toilets(it’s hardly camping, is it!), catering available. It doesn’t get any better than this! I’m going to pack for a couple of days away, see you all later.

Plenty of shady areas.

About ivoradventures

Lives Brisbane north. Age 47. Male. Interests-heaps of stuff. Camping, fishing, and gold panning, keeps me quite busy. I still find time to cook, and spend time family and friends. I truly enjoy my daughters company(Shannon), but don't see enough of her since she moved out. There is a certain type of beauty that exists only in the wild places, and it calls to you. Go and explore! And drag someone with you.
